Warsaw 1944
Description
At the end of July 1944, the Soviet army was gradually approaching Warsaw. However, the Germans used their panzer divisions to slow down the Soviet advance. The command of the Polish Home Army decided to start an uprising in Warsaw, hoping to take control of the city from the Germans. Then, they could act as real "hosts" on behalf of The Polish government-in-exile located in London to the approaching Soviet forces. However, Stalin stopped the offensive, which enabled the Germans to deal with the insurgents and destroy Warsaw.
"The game gives you the opportunity to check whether there was a real possibility to help the fighting and bleeding capital of Poland. A bold and risky strike by the Soviet and Polish armies seems tempting, but will the Germans watch it passively?" (from the publisher's website)
