Description

Magic Trick is a trick-taking game from designer Chris Wray and artist Megan Russell. It is based around a deck of 7 suits, with 8 cards per suit (0-7). Players cannot see the face of their cards --- only the suit on the back --- and need to deduce which cards they have as quickly as possible in the round. They are helped by the fact that their neighbor sorts the cards sequentially by rank at the start of the hand.

Players must follow suit if they can. Hearts are trump. The winner of the trick leads the next trick.

Each player will, at some point during the trick, place one card go "up their sleeve," and the face value of it becomes the number of tricks (and suits) players are betting they will take.

Players score points for hitting their bid, which is the face value of the card up their sleeve. They also earn additional points if they capture a number of suits equal to their bid (and they do not get this bonus if they miss their trick bid). They lose points for missing their bid.

Play hands equal to the number of players. High score wins at the end of the game.
