Clades Variana: La bataille de Teutoburg
Description
Clades Variana is a Print & Play solitaire wargame simulating the Battle of Teutoburg which took place from September 7 to 11, 9 AD between the army of the Roman Consul Publius Quinctilius Varus and the coalition of Germanic tribes led by the Cheruscan Arminius.
In this game, four 21x29.7cm format maps represent the historical space of this combat. On this space, 1cm is equivalent to about 200-400m on the ground.
1 turn of the game represents half a day of history, a game is played in 8 turns. The player tries to avoid the announced disaster of the Roman forces while the game directs the efforts of the Germans to annihilate the enemy column; but he can also reverse the roles and like Arminius organize the ambush against Varus' army.
In just 4 days, barbarians annihilated 3 legions, the pride of Rome, forever marking the history of the conquerors. Will you manage to get out of this trap, will you succeed in uniting the Germanic tribes against the common threat? It's up to you to change destiny...
