Description

Break the Bank is a trivia game where players answer questions for money.

There are five categories of questions:
  • Story Land
  • Geography
  • Sports]
  • Show Biz/Music
  • History

A player spins for a question category and if the question is answered correctly, gains money, then advances towards the "Gateway to the Bank". Once the "Gateway" has been reached, a special Bank Breaker question is asked, and if answered correctly, the player gains one of twelve $100,000 bonus coins and returns to start again at the beginning of the track.

Penalties are applied for answering a question wrong. These range from losing money to moving backwards on the track. Play continues until all of the bonus coins are awarded.

The player with the most money wins.

An interesting note: each question card contains two questions, one marked 'grown-up' and one marked 'youngster'. These can be used to balance the game if younger players are involved or handicap players if the 'yougster' questions are considered too easy.

A nice trivia game, but limited to only 30 questions per category. And because the game was produced in the 50s, the questions (which were current at the time) are dated.
