Description

"Battle of Shanghai" reproduces two Shanghai incidents of different nature in completely different game systems.

The "First Shanghai Incident" is a zonal wargame that represents the military scalade that ensued the January Incident, in 1932. One player plays with the japanese army and the other plays the Kuomintang Armed Forces. The game is played in only two turns, one for february and one for march. Each turn both players alternate in taking actions by expending logistic points until they exhaust their points or both players passes consecutively.
The map depicts the countryside north of Shanghai, in a zonal map. The goal of the Japanese is to score enought victory points by occupying some key areas by the end of each turn or else eliminate all KMT troops from around Shanghai. The KMT wins elseway. The counters represent regiments or brigades, with few support counters.

In "Shanghai / Nanjing Operation", is a more classical wargame, that simulates the 1938 thrust to Nanjing. The map represents the region between Shanghai and Nanjing, and it's an hexagon's map. The units are at divisional level for the japanese and at army level for the Kuomingtang.
