Torfitz
Description
Torfitz is a management game about structural change developed for students of ninth grade or higher, university students, and apprentices.
Players take on different roles (such as citizen, mayor, entrepreneur, etc.) and are confronted with different tasks. Together, from their character’s perspective, they have to communicate and develop ideas for projects. Afterwards, they have to present their ideas to a committee, which chooses the best ideas on the basis of different criteria. During that selection, a shift of perspective happens, because players have to slip in different roles as part of the committee.
The exchange of arguments in constructive discussions and finding compromises creates a competency development in democratic, social and environmentally sustainable reasoning.
Torfitz can be played with 6 to 30 players. There are 3 different variations of the game with varying complexity and game durations of 45 min, 60 min and 90 min. Game and rules are set to allow a smooth start into the game requiring no previous knowledge and minimal effort.
