Description

A very early game of "Star Trek Inspired" starship combat. Rules are intended for miniatures and tape measures, though conversions are included for BYOHM (bring your own hexgrid map).

—user summary

Precis Intermedia brings back this classic board/miniatures game. Originally published in 1977 by Wee Warriors, The Embattled Trek was created during an era without today's advanced software and print services, making indie publishers of the time truly special.

From out of the black void, two silent fleets deploy. They meet in battle to decide their disputed rights to a small but important section of the galaxy.

As a captain aboard one of the armed fighting ships of the Confederated Planetary Systems, you stand ready with your top scientists, engineers, and crew to meet the finest of a newly-contacted Empire. Facing an enemy with more-powerful weapons at short range, it is your task to use the best advantages of your individual ships to negate those of the Empire.

The Embattled Trek represents tactical level play of ship-to-ship combat between the forces of two space powers. Due to the novel combat system using subtractive percentages, the game cannot be counted as won until the last of the enemy ships is destroyed or disabled. And simultaneous plotted movement provides a clean-playing, fast game, where one mistake can cost you your fleet.

Two sizes of counters are provided to allow for hex-map play or use in tabletop gaming. Three-dimensional ships may also be used with these rules.

Requires a set of percentile dice and a six-sided die.
