Description

The Battle of Shiloh is two-player game recreating what US Grant called the severest battle fought in the western theater during the Civil War. This two-day action (April 6-7, 1862) was the Confederacy's great attempt to reverse two months of defeat and recapture western Tennessee.

It is an interesting game, with an intriguing system in which the Union force is alerted and pushed into combat slowly. It is almost as if you can feel the soldiers getting up and emerging from their tents. As many games of West End Games, this one is not well known, which is a shame really.
