Supremacy
Description
This game is very similar to Monopoly. Players go around the board and buy cities, with infantry, subs, generals etc (rather than money). Once they have a set of any 2 cities in a county they can then build forts, which enables the fort owner to receive military units from other players who land on that city.
The game appears to originate from New Zealand during the war years. It was promoted in local and National New Zealand papers from 1941 to about 1947. The rules were printed by the Evening Post which was a New Zealand Newspaper publisher company. The advertised examples suggest that small coloured moulded playing pieces were included, although other metal button type tokens have been recorded. These may have been an austerity measure during the war
