Description

It's time to leave your parents/cousin/ex and find your own home. Your paltry years in the housing queue don't count for much in the absurd rental market of this city, so you have to navigate the second-hand market and jump from one shaky solution to the next. Work hard in order to afford the exorbitant sublet-rents, study hard in order to be eligible for subsidized student housing, or play hard in order to discover sweet opportunities in your network.

Stockholm is an angst-packed game about living someplace. The game covers six years. Each year you secretly divide your action points between work, study and social activities. Players who work more get more income, players who study more get study grants and student accommodation, and players who engage more in social activities get to pick first from the offers on the informal housing market.

The aim of the game is to maximize any two out of three scores: Urbanity (the supply of services in your area), Living Standard (the indoor size and quality of your housing solution, incl. the absence of annoying people) and Sea&Forest (the scenery, swimming and skating opportunities, ability to pick blueberries and mushrooms).

And if you find a flat with more room than you can afford to rent on your own, then you can snuggle up with other players. There's no place like inside when in Stockholm.
