Star Wars: Death Star
Description
"The Game of Death Star Combat in Star Wars"
Complexity level 3 on Tsukada's 1-6 scale (1=easiest)
Only released in Japan, this Star Wars themed hex-based wargame recreates the Battle of Yavin and attack on the Death Star seen at the end of the first film. It includes smaller scenarios for shorter games, including a recreation of the Millennium Falcon's escape from the Death Star after rescuing Princess Leia.
While the box says 2-8 players, like many of Tsukada's games, over two players means "get on one of the two teams and share the counters"; it's really a 2 player game.
Some game boxes have the Star Wars logo in the upper right front corner covered with an Empire Strikes Back logo. The game recreates the events of the first film, but at the time the game was published in 1982, Empire was the most recent film in theaters.
The rule book and back of the box have a typo in English: "May the forth be with you!"
