Description

Spray is a one-against-all game. One player plays the role of a graffiti writer.
Setup: Place the 5 colour cards face up on the table. Shuffle the deck of 25 district cards, district side up. Deal to each player the same number of cards that each player lays on the table in front of themself, without changing the order, overlapping so that they are all visible.
The writer secretly chooses the secret colour card.
Game: Starting with the first player and then clockwise, the active player takes their top district card and places it, district side up, in the middle of the table next (horizontally or vertically) to a district card, there cannot be more than 5 district cards in a row or column.
During their turn the writer also places their district card respecting the placement rules but, they may, if they wish, play their district card upside down, graffiti side up, only if the background colour of the laid graffiti is the secret colour or the laid graffiti is adjacent (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) to a district card of the secret colour.
Whenever the writer makes a graffiti the other players flip any colour cards corresponding to neither to the background of the placed graffiti, nor any of the district cards adjacent to it (horizontally, vertically or diagonally), to the no colour side.
The graffiti writer may not create graffiti if this would reveal their identity, i.e. there may never be a single colour card face up.
End: The game ends as soon as all 25 district cards have been played. Everyone plays the role of the graffiti writer once. The player who achieves the most graffiti wins the game.
