You are jolted awake by a blood-curdling scream, followed by an eerie silence. Heart racing, you light a candle, its flickering flame casting trembling shadows as you move cautiously through your darkened house. There, on the floor, is your father, gravely wounded - his life fading with every breath.

Outside, your once peaceful village now teems with nightmarish creatures—horrific beasts that slither from the forest’s edge. But the worst has yet to come: your sister is gone, taken by a monster that can exist only in the darkest corner of the woods. A shadowed fiend that feeds on fear, preying upon the
young and vulnerable.

With the village in chaos and time running out, there is only one path before you and your faithful dog. Into the cursed heart of Ruinwood, where horrors unimaginable lurk. It is there, in the depths of that forsaken place, that you must venture—if you are to bring her back.

Explore Ruinwood by moving your hero along 13 connecting mini Maps by placing two Exploration cards beside two compass headings. Choose one card to resolve and move in that direction. Exploration cards include things like enemies, loot, healing pools, mushroom patches, traps, or clear paths. Battle enemies by expending Stamina points and flipping over multi purpose Outcome cards to determine damage. Upgrade your hero's stats, cast spells, and find upgrades to help you battle your way through 5 unique levels and over 20 enemies in the dark forest in your search for your sister.
