Description

RIOT is a board game about social conflict -- a simulation of urban political tension and uprising. The game has a good setting and simple mechanics.

In RIOT, the player has to choose a side (Police or Rioters) and attempt to rule the streets of the city by maintaining control of different areas in a situation that seems out of any control.

The game is one of factions that have different powers. The four factions portrayed in the game are: Autonomous, Anarchists, Nationalists and Police. The game is turn-based and ends when a faction reaches its goal. The four factions have their own specific markers, powers, and goals.

RIOT is a card-driven game of area control and worker placement. The clashes between the various forces occur on the streets of the city with the aim of occupying buildings.

In summary, the Rioters struggle for control of the district of the city, while the Police try to block them. On the Rioter's turn, the faction of troublemakers can pursue various actions based on the buildings they control. The Police instead follow different rules.
