Description
The Quartetto is played on a common 8x8 checkerboard.
Each player has four checkers, each initially placed at the middle four board positions of the opposite rows.
Checkers are moved horizontally or vertically any number of unoccupied board positions. Game play alternates between the two players.
The goal of the game is to place all own checkers in board positions, which middle points are vertices of some rotated square (being non-parallel towards board edges). The smallest surrounding box of this constellation being parallel to edges of the board must be greater or equal 5x5 board positions.
Complete rules text inQuartetto is closely related to and implements similar concepts of Adrian Schacker's Mondrago (1992) and John Scarne's Teeko (1945).
