Description

Park Life is a may follow trick taking game about timing and hand management.

Hedgehog Edition streamlines the deck and only includes number cards (as opposed to the more complex set collecting and wild cards in People Edition) Hedgehog edition was streamlined for 'families' but also 'hardcore trick taking fans'.

Hedgehog Deluxe adds 12 higher value JQK cards that increase hand size (20-16 cards for 1-4 players) and increase player count (up to 8).

In Park Life, players discard cards from their hand when they win a trick, but are not penalized if they don't have enough to discard. The cards Jerboa, Quokka, and Koala cards twist that because they are worth a massive amount of points, but they require discarding to keep their value.

Hedgehog Deluxe also adds 8 cute caterpillar tokens and a first player bus token to replace the cards in pocket edition.
The Deluxe rulebook include modes for solo against an automaton, 8 player games, and more!

---
Gameplay is simple, everyone plays one card per trick. The winner of the trick wins points equal to the value of the card they played, but the lowest card wins and the winner must discard cards from their hand. Winning with small cards early is dangerous because the round only ends when everyone is cardless.

In Hedgehog Edition, players count scores at the end of every hand, and the highest score flips their caterpillar token from the +5 point side to the +2 point side, or wins if they already won once. (This is different than People Edition, where players keep cards across the whole game and count scores after 3 hands).

As a may-follow trick taking game, you have agency to choose what strategy you want based on the cards dealt to you and the choices of others. This well-balanced hand management and action economy game avoids perfect information and fills Park Life with rich choices.

For solo and co-op, play against the automata with rules in the deluxe rule book (you can download the deluxe rules for free below).

Park Life: Hedgehog may be combined with Park Life: People to play with more cards in the 5-8 player games, competitively or cooperatively.
