Description
A modern, compact, territory-control strategy game with no elements of chance. "Minutes to learn, a lifetime to master"
The game is played on a standard 9x9 sudoku board, using integers 0 through 8.
Players take turns placing integer under the standard sudoku rules of placement; each number can occur only once in each row, column, and 3x3 region. The game ends when no more tiles can be placed, or both players agree to resolve the gameboard.
Placing tiles give the player "power" in the regions containing the tile. This power is equivalent to the integer value.
Additionally, if the tiles are in a cell that touches an external region, either diagonally or orthogonally (rows/columns), the player receives "influence" equal to 1/2 tile value in each connected external region.
The general goal is to control a majority of regions at the end of play.
In simplified versions, the points are totaled for each region, both power and influence, and the player with the most points in a given region is said to have control.
In the advanced game, a cascade known as Resolution occurs. (For more info on the advanced game, see http://mbranegame.com/rules-of-m/)
