Mana Mania
Description
Mana Mania is a light set-collection card game with hand-management and drafting gameplay. Players collect colored cards matching their own elemental identity, which changes as they shift on a linear board called the Leyline. Across 6 rounds, they’ll burn, block, and freeze fellow players as they gather from a refilling Mana Pool. Utilize nine elements with unique playstyles and effects to sabotage other players' plans. In the end, only one spirit will amass enough energy to claim victory.
Players start each round by refilling their hand (tableau) with elemental cards from a shared deck. A shared resource pool called the Mana Pool is also filled. Players are randomly assigned to spaces along a board called the Leyline. Their position shows their current "Alignment." A player's elemental alignment determines how they score at the end of the game, but also what abilities they can use. The aligned element and its two adjacent elements on the Leyline form that element's "Range."
Players take turns completing 3 actions to move, acquire cards, and use effects. They can only use the effects of elements within their range. Between rounds, hands refill and the Mana Pool is refreshed. The last rounds provide boosted versions of the 3 actions. After the final round, players will count points from cards in their hand that match their elemental alignment. The player with the highest point total wins.
