Description

Gra Rycerska: Bitwa pod Grunwaldem (Chivalry Game: Battle of Grunwald) is a simple family game designed to describe (in a very simplified way) one of the largest battles in Medieval Europe The Battle of Grunwald or 1st Battle of Tannenberg.

One of the players takes on the role of Władysław Jagiełło (king of alliance of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania) while the other one commands Teutonic Knights forces as Ulrich von Jungingen. Each of the player forces consist of several formation of different unit types such as foot men, knights and archers.

On his or her turn player spins a spinner that determines one of his or hers formation. Then the player chooses one of the units belonging to this formation and can move and/or attack with it. Each unit type has specific movement and attack rules. First player to eliminate set number of enemy units is declared the winner.

Game was designed so it could be used as an introduction to abstract strategy games and to war games.

UPDATE: At the end of production process the name of the game was shortened to Bitwa pod Grunwaldem.
