Gnomes In BURANO
Description
(Itazura kobito to shimashima no shima) is the Japanese title of this game, meaning Naughty Gnomes on Shimashima Island. しましま is Shimashima, meaning Striped, 島 is Shima (sounded like しま) meaning Island. But the publisher has given it a simpler English title 'Gnomes in Burano'. The theme of the game is the rows of coloured houses that need swapping about.
The theme of the game is shown by the Striped housing cards. Each player has a total of 12 house tiles, (4 tiles of 3 different colours), and the aim is to complete the pattern in as few moves as possible.
You can only turn over two Gnome cards at a time. Each player is free to choose which card to use first, which to remove, and which to move left or right. When everyone has moved their two Gnome cards, a new Gnome card is flipped over and the rearrangement continues.
The game ends when someone completes the pattern of the theme card, and the player who completes the pattern wins. the game can be played solitaire.
