Description

Double Seven is a modern twist on classic Rummy-style gameplay, combining set collection, strategic exchanges, and accessible rules.

In Double Seven, your goal is to create and expand families of animals while exchanging strategically with your opponents to maximize your actions and score as many points as possible.

At the start of the game, each player draws three tiles from the shuffled pile of 91 tiles, placing them on their rack in secret.

Each turn is divided into two steps:

1. Drawing Tiles

At the start of your turn, draw:
  • 3 tiles if your rack is empty.
  • 2 tiles if your rack contains any tiles.

You may draw face-down from the pile or face-up from the discard area.

2. Performing Actions

After drawing, you can perform as many actions as you want (or can), allowing you the freedom to strategize and adapt. Actions include:

  • Starting a family: Place at least two matching Animal tiles from your rack onto the table to form a new family.
  • Expanding a family: Add tiles to one of your existing families, using either matching Animals or Clovers.
  • Claiming a Clover (wild tile): Replace a clover in a family on the table with a matching Animal tile from your rack, then add the Clover to your rack.
  • Special Action – Two for One: Discard two tiles face-up from your rack to draw one new tile, face-up or face-down.
  • The heart of the game, Exchanging families: Exchange one of your families with an opponent’s family of the same size, creating dynamic interactions and opening up new strategic possibilities.

Scoring and Winning

Every time a family reaches 7 tiles or more, you claim a 7 token for bonus points.

Be the first to complete two families of seven tiles to earn the coveted 77 token, which ends the game and adds extra points to your score.

Players score 1 point per tile in their families on the table, plus any bonus points from tokens.

The player with the highest total points wins!
