Common Earth
Description
In Common Earth you build your own nation, trying to score as many victory points as you can. At the same time you will have to take care of the planet in co-operation with other players. Cards that harm the planet are cheap, but also move the risk-meter towards the extreme to simulate the impact on planet earth. If players do not take care of the planet, extreme disasters will strike them round after round.
Gameplay consists of multiple rounds. At the start of the round players draw cards in turn order. After that players can play their cards either in their own tableau to build their nation, or to the middle of the game board to boost all cards of the same colour. Playing cards in your own tableau costs money, whereas playing cards to the middle forces you to discard other cards from your hand.
In the third step of the round players can turn cards in their tableau in for points. Cards of similar colour in the middle may offer them extra points. In the fourth step players gather income from the cards remaining in their tableau. In the fifth step the risk-meter is moved based on the cards players have placed in their own tableaus. The sixth and final step includes resolving a disaster and drawing a new one for players to see. The severity of the disaster depends on the position of the risk-meter marker.
Play is continued until a set number of disasters have been resolved. At the end, the player with the most victory points wins.
