Chemistry Set
Description
Chemistry Set is a quick, low-complexity card game about building molecules out of atoms to complete experiments before your opponent. It is primarily a competitive game for two players, but can also be played as a solitaire game.
There are two main types of cards in this game - Atom Cards and Experiment Cards, which dictate how molecules are to be constructed. Players take one or two actions on their turn. Actions include playing a single Carbon / Oxygen / Nitrogen (C/O/N) Atom Card to start or continue the construction of a molecule, playing up to four Hydrogen Atom Cards adjacent to a single C/O/N Atom Card already in play, playing a Double Bond Card between adjacent C/O/N cards, and discarding any number of Atom Cards to immediately draw back up to a hand size of five. At the end of their turn, Atom Cards are drawn to a hand size of five.
Some flexibility is permitted as certain molecular rearrangements are allowed. However, players will also have to work with restrictions, such as only being allowed to build their own molecules and not their opponent's, a construction limit of two molecules at a time, and not being allowed to use two actions of the same turn on the same molecule.
When a player completes the molecule on an Experiment Card, they take that card and score the number of points listed on it. Neither player may complete that Experiment again for the rest of the game.
The endgame is triggered when a player has scored at least 10 points or when all experiments have been completed. The other player gets to take one last action. The player with the higher score wins!
