Description

C&B is an abstract assymetrical game for two players. The Republic, in center of the board, is defended by the Oligarchy, while the People's insurrection arises with its militants from the Conurbans, on the periphery. The capabilities and mobility of the pieces of the Oligarchy far exceed those of the People, who on the other hand tend to be very numerous as the insurrection grows.

KOAN Juegos de Mesa, a young Argentine game developer and publisher, has launched its first game C&B - Civilization and Barbarity.

It is a strategy game that is defined by the absence of chance and where each of the opposing parties seeks to impose its hegemony. To prevail, the People must block and paralyze each of the oligarchs, or take the Republic by storm through an irruption of their Leader, making the Revolution possible. The Oligarchy, on the other hand, must seek the obstruction of the Conurbans to stop the insurrection, or, using its ability to capture People's pieces, remove the Leader from the board twice.

It is a game where the strategies are completely asymmetrical, and yet a balance is achieved between the two fields allowing for the development of very different situations from game to game, in which apparent advantages often crumble quickly leading to surprising setbacks.

—description from the publisher

—description from the back of the box (original)

Since the beginning of history, humanity has debated between civilization and barbarity. In this asymmetric game in which the strategies of the people and the oligarchy are completely different, to achieve victory the oligarchy will seek to drown out the popular insurrection or suppress its leadership with a magnicide, while the people must grow in numbers to block the oligarchy or break into the holy republic and make the revolution.
