Borobudur: The Golden Era
Description
In Borobudur, the player becomes one of the contractors involved with Gunadarma to contribute to building this great temple. The construction of the temple starts from the first-tier, continued by second-tier and finished in the third-tier.
Borobudur is a worker placement game with double rondel mechanics. Each player moves one of the workers in the West or East Action Area to perform the action space where it stops. Tableau building mechanics can also be implemented by hiring artisans.
At its core, players work on a stone tile in their workshop to build into a temple construction. Occasionally, the workshop needs maintenance to avoid blunt conditions that cause it to stop operating. During the game, player may upgrade their workshop to develop its engine.
Hiring artisans gives player some benefits in various ways, including generating resources (labor). On the other hand, sending monks helps player to gain more points and generate bonuses in the temples.
