Description

Historical Background
In the early 1350, after the death of King Alfonso XI of Castile, the conflict between the reigning king Peter I and his illegitimate brother Henry of Trastamara put the Iberian peninsula in rage. This war became one part of a greater conflict involving the kingdoms of England and France, better known as the Hundred Years` War.

A Just and Cruel War shows how this bloody war was unleashed in the Iberian peninsula. The players will command the destinies of the royal side ("Petristas"), the usurper ("Trastamaras") and the crown of Aragon.

Game system
The game system (direct heir of the Fall of Hispania) is composed by a common deck of cards (where the historical events of the period are included), and another one specific for each player.

The players direct their armies over the mapboard, and they develop intricated policies from this historical period, wich can favorise some of the factions that cohabited in the Castilian Kingdom (nobles, Jews, Military Orders...).
