Description

1838 Rheinland is an 18xx game designed and self-published by Wolfram Janich.

It is intended to be a short game, obviously located in the area of one of the most industrial area of Germany, the Rhine valley from Bonn to the RuhrGebiet (Essen).

  • mainly a variant of 1835 (trains X+x, last share is 20%, nationalization, corporations floated with 50%) with 1830: Railways & Robber Barons features (stock market, privates auction)
  • 6 corporations
  • the Rhine can only be crossed in a few places in main cities (this represents the fact that the Prussian army did not allow, for defense reasons, the building of bridges over the Rhine)
  • special bonuses: coal mines and steel mills
  • small map (around 60 hexes)

A revised version has been published as 18Rhl: Rhineland.
